A universal metric of concrete volume and percentages of concrete volume will be used to calculate results. Idencia OneSource tracks this data in real-time, providing you with continuous feedback on your progress. Please see contest rules for more information on all data to be collected and utilized to calculate winners.
-
In order to show participants how they compare to the competition, we will be sharing anonymized aggregate data metrics.
We will be taking all participant data, adding it up, and finding the average. We will only share these aggregated data points to others.
We will never share direct data that is associated to any one individual participant.
At the end of the challenge, we will publicize the winner’s overall scrap rate. This will be the only individualized data point we share publicly.
It is imperative that we sample an average of all participants data to create the anonymized aggregate averages, but if you don’t want your data included in this calculation, please let us know. If you do not include your data in the sample, then we will be unable to share the participant averages in your system and you will only discover how you’ve done in the competition once the winners are announced.

Judging and Notification
Every qualified participant will have their data analyzed and calculated at the end of the contest to determine ranking amongst each other. Those participants whose calculated data points meet either of the two Grand Prize objectives will be the winner(s).
Data that will be utilized in determining final results will need to be collected during the allotted contest dates as indicated above.
It is allowed that a single precast plant facility location can win both Grand Prize objectives, thus winning both cash prizes.
Winners must fill out and submit the appropriate tax forms in order to receive their cash awards. If the forms are not submitted within 60 days of the request date, cash awards may be forfeited.
If one or both of the Grand Prize winners do not collect their prizes, it will go to the next participant whose final calculated data points meet the Grand Prize objective the original winner did not claim the prize for. If a single precast plant facility location won both Grand Prize objectives and do not claim the prize, it will go to the next two participants who won in their respective Grand Prize objective; it may go to another single plant location participant if the data criteria is met.
The following are not permitted to enter the contest: current or past employees of Idencia, Inc. and their immediate family members; and Idencia, Inc. partners and their immediate family members. Ineligible entries will be disqualified.
Grand Prize Winners will be notified via email on or before April 24, 2025. Prizes will be distributed by June 14, 2025.
Grand Prize Objectives
Participants will be judged based on their skill to scrap the least amount of concrete in relation to all concrete they pour and on their ability to improve their scrap rates throughout a quarter of their year of production. These two skills are the determining factors to the winning of one of the Grand Prizes for The Precast ScrapDown Challenge. See below for details on each Grand Prize objective.
Objective 1: Lowest Percentage of Scrapped Concrete
The winner will be awarded based on their performance in scrapping the least amount of concrete in relation to all concrete they pour.
To determine the winner of this objective, Idencia will calculate the percentage of total concrete volume scrapped in relation to all concrete poured. Once all calculations are complete, the participant whose percentage is the smallest among all participants will win.
Data needed to calculate winner:
Total Concrete Volume Scrapped - This is entered by participants during the initial recording of a defect on a single product basis. Idencia will total all of the concrete scrapped per product entered.
Total Concrete Volume Poured - This is entered by participants on a daily/weekly basis. Idencia will total all of the concrete volume poured for the duration of this contest.
Objective 2: Greatest Improvement Over the Quarter
The winner will be awarded based on their ability to improve their scrap rates throughout a quarter of their year of production (the duration of this contest). The goal is to improve the scrap rate between January and March by reducing the rate between those months.
To determine the winner of this objective, Idencia will calculate the percentage of total concrete volume scrapped in relation to all concrete poured on a monthly basis (January, February, March) and determine the rate of difference between the months. Once all calculations are complete, the participant whose ratio of improvement is the most among all participants will win.
Data needed to calculate winner:
Total Concrete Volume Scrapped - This is entered by participants during the initial recording of a defect on a single product basis. Idencia will total all of the concrete scrapped per product entered on a monthly basis.
Total Concrete Volume Poured - This is entered by participants on a daily/weekly basis. Idencia will total all of the concrete volume poured for the duration of this contest on a monthly basis.
